Meet Katie
Dr. Katherine Rella, DSW, LCSW, LCADC
Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Doctor of Social Work (DSW) with experience working with adolescents and adults across a variety of mental health and substance use settings.
I have been working in the mental health field since 2019 and have experience supporting clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, co-occurring disorders, emotional dysregulation, and major life transitions. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals facing complex and high-acuity challenges across outpatient and intensive levels of care, which has strengthened my ability to provide compassionate, grounded, and nonjudgmental support during difficult moments.
My doctoral work included a specialization in trauma, with a focus on the distinctions between PTSD and Complex PTSD (CPTSD) and the ways prolonged trauma can impact emotional regulation, relationships, self-worth, and daily functioning.
I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, substance use, and co-occurring mental health concerns. I also work with LGBTQIA+ clients and strive to create an affirming, inclusive, and safe space for all individuals.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely comfortable, supported, and understood. I value building strong therapeutic relationships and often incorporate humor, authenticity, and warmth into sessions to help clients feel more at ease while navigating difficult topics.
I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) while tailoring treatment to each client’s individual needs and goals. Whether you are working through a difficult season of life, healing from past experiences, or simply looking for additional support, my goal is to provide a safe and judgment-free space where meaningful growth and change can occur.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, playing video games, binge watching the newest Netflix show, and connecting with other mental health professionals.
