Therapy for trauma, substance use, anxiety, and the complicated parts of being human.
Hi, I'm Katie and I'm glad you're here.

Reaching out for therapy isn't always easy, and finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are, talk honestly about what's going on, and feel supported without judgment. I work with teens and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, substance use, life transitions, and everything in between. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply trying to better understand yourself, therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what's happening, and move forward.

Creating space for real conversations.
I became a therapist because I believe people deserve a space where they can be honest about what they're going through without fear of judgment.
Life can be complicated. Sometimes we find ourselves repeating patterns we don't understand, carrying experiences that continue to affect us, or feeling overwhelmed by things we think we should be able to handle on our own. Therapy provides an opportunity to slow down, make sense of what's happening, and build a path forward.
My goal is to create a space where clients feel supported, challenged when appropriate, and comfortable showing up exactly as they are.

Working with Katie
My style is warm, collaborative, and direct.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation rather than a clinical checklist. While I bring professional training and experience to our work, I also believe that you are the expert on your own life.
Clients often appreciate that I balance compassion with honesty. I'll support you, but I'll also help you notice patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and explore new ways of approaching difficult situations.
My Background
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University and my Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from Tulane University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in New Jersey.
Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents and adults in a variety of treatment settings, supporting individuals navigating trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, and co-occurring mental health concerns. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an adjunct instructor, where I help train future social workers. I remain committed to ongoing professional development and regularly pursue continuing education in trauma, substance use treatment, and emerging research related to PTSD and Complex PTSD (CPTSD).

When I'm not in session, you can usually find me hanging out with my dogs, reading, attending concerts, playing video games, or fueling myself with too much coffee. I'm also a fan of true crime, tattoos, musicals, and exploring new places whenever I get the chance. While I take my work seriously, I believe it's important to make room for the things that help us feel connected, grounded, and fully ourselves.

Meet Benny

If we meet virtually, there’s a good chance you’ll see Benny pop into session from time to time, usually by climbing onto the chair behind me. Over the years, he’s become a comforting part of the telehealth experience for many clients, and people often mention that seeing him around helps sessions feel a little more relaxed and comfortable.

His appearances are never planned, but they usually seem to happen at the right time.
